Cynthia McKinney Interviewed on Far-Right Racist Radio Program

Continuing to increase her political connections with the extreme far right (as I documented here and here), former U.S. Representative and 2008 Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney has appeared on a far-right, anti-Semitic internet radio program.  On April 30, she was interviewed for over an hour on the "The Information Underground" by the program's host, who calls himself "Ognir".

A cached version of the program's archive is available here.  Previous broadcasts of the show have titles such as "Jewish Domination and the World as we know it", "Crimes of the Zionists", "the Zionist Criminal Network", "Jewish takeover of Christianity", "Eugenocide", "The International Jews Bankers" (sic), "Jewish Worldwide Propaganda System", "Jews Behind Every Rock", and "Jews Israel and 9/11".  The program has featured guests such as Brother NathanaelKapner of "Real Jew News" (read here.  Kapner's website has recently changed its "Real Jew News" logo to read "Real Zionist News".  Nice touch.  Now about that URL.), racist internet radio host Michael Delaney, aka Prothink (read here and here), hate rapper/blogger Khanverse (readhere and here), Israel Shamir (read here), Michele Renouf (read here), and fascist blogger Daryl Bradford Smith of iamthewitness.com (read here).

An mp3 of the interview is available here.  Here's an excerpt from the transcript of the McKinney interview from the show's website where McKinney blames a spy for defeating her reelection to Congress (read here):

Q: I called Washington the “District of Criminals,” a “viper pit.” Now, you’vesurvived, Congresswoman, six terms there. Can you give us some detail of, which is quite obvious if you look into it, you have an open-mind, that Washington is under a state, that Washington, DC, is under a state of siege by a very powerful group. You named them a pro-Israel group. Can you give me some more details about theharrassment (sic) that over your twelve years you suffered?

McKinney: Well if I were to give an accounting I would think I would use up ALL of your time that you have allotted; I think that what I’ll do is I’ll pick one story that could be illustrative of some of the things that happened. During the 2002 re-election campaign, there was a gentleman who was in my campaign headquarters, who identified himself as an observer, a political observer of our campaign, and he would sit in a rocking chair with my father at the campaign headquarters and they would share stories about the campaign, the state of politics, and that sort of thing. Thisgentelman (sic) be-friended (sic) my FATHER; well, after the election was over and all kinds of things happened, like the loss of the keys to the vans that would transport people, to the loss of the phones from the phone-banking room that was an off-site place that no one was supposed to know the location of, this particular gentleman who had identified himself as a stateless Palestinian went on the television and announced himself as the Southern Regional Buraeu (sic) Chief for one of the pro-Israel organizations. So our campaign was disrupted and TOTALLY disrupted, particularly on election day, and that was the link; we didn’t know until election but then this particular volunteer showed-up on television…

Q: Can you put a name to this guy; is this guy still around?...

McKinney: I don’t know if he’s still around, but he ended-up being a member of the Anti-Defamation League. There are MANY pro-Israel organizations that have a political impact and conduct political business, and the Anti-Defamation League is one of them, you have the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee is another one of them, and those are among the better known politcal (sic) organizations."

At about 39:40 in the mp3 of the broadcast, the host begins a rambling discourse on the question "who is more powerful in Washington, D.C. than the president?"  Here's a portion of the Q and A:

Q: I have the name of a guy who joined the army in 1991 during the first Gulf War.  I have reviewed several videos (of?) the former PR guy for the Democrats, Dick Morris.  Morris said that Bill Clinton was afraid of only one guy and it was this guy.  He's got Jew nationality and Jew loyalties.  The name "Megef" (?) comes to mind when I talk about this guy, Rahm Emanuel.  Is there somebody giving more instructions to Rahm Emanuel or am I completely way off?

McKinney: I think that what you're talking about is who controls the U.S. government.  There are people in the front and the American people go through the exercise of electing their representatives on every level, including congressional and the presidency.  But who really calls the shots?  And I think one could look at my career, honestly, and say "well, maybe it's not Congress who are making the policy".    And you can just look at the monied interests . . . the special interests.  The special interests basically rule.  And the people take a back seat to the special interests.

The job of the two political parties that are captives of the special interests is to trick the people into believing that they represent the values of the various political spectra (sic) in the population, when, in actuality, they don't.  That's why I walked away from the Democratic Party.

At about 54:10 of the interview, McKinney says the following:

McKinney: Osama bin Laden is not wanted by the FBI.  If you know the relationship of former administrations to the bin Laden family, this just begs for independent investigation.

At 56:04 of the interview, the interlocutor poses a rambling question about 9/11:

Q: Late in the evening (of 9/11), early morning, you're presented a 572 page document that is prepared well in advance based on certain manipulations and certain directions of Benjamin Netanyahu.  What were the congressmen saying?  They handed you a bill and said "sign this to protect ourselves" (sic) ...  What happens in the few hours leading up to the passage of the Patriot Act?

McKinney's extensive response in no way disabuses the questioner of his notion that the Patriot Act was passed within hours of the 9/11 attacks, or that it was in some way brought about by Benjamin Netanyahu.  At about 59:45 of the mp3, her response gets to this:

McKinney:  (The) people are marginalized, left out, and alienated, and lied to, (by) all the forces of division -- the balkanization of the American electorate, to allow a smaller group of people able to eventually control the politics of the whole.

McKinney then launches into her version of Matthias Chang's theory that an elite group (which Chang openly identifies as Jewish) is deliberately destablizing the world economy to create an oligarchy in the U.S equivalent to that of early post-Soviet Russia.

The interviewer then asks a question concerning McKinney's assertions that George Bush knew of the 9/11 attacks before they occurred.  He outlines a byzantine 9/11 conspiracy theory involving the Bush administration, CIA and Pakistani ISI -- the names Jack Abramoff, George Tenet, Porter Goss, John Kyl, John Kerry, Joe Biden and Lindsay Graham enter into it.  He claims that they were all in on a Pakistani plot to give funds to Mohammed Atta.  McKinney does not disagree.

McKinney: Well there are a lot of unanswered questions. And the family members of the direct victims of the tragedies have unanswered questions.  I think that these covert activities that the United States  is engaged in should not be covert.  And I would argue that we don't need to engage in this kind of behavior.

McKinney and her host go on to a discussion of the international drug trade.  The host outlines the drugs coming into the U.S. from various countries, then outlines the nations involved in combat overseas.  Then he gets to his point:

Q: It seems to be that they are intent on seeing that they're there to make sure that there's no breakage in the supply of drugs to the rest of the youngsters of the world -- that they're going to be infected with this sickness of heroin and cocaine . . . Our young people are severely under attack via these political Zionistic attitudes towards the rest of the world.  There is no humanity to these people.  This is obvious when we apply this to Washington.  You said it yourself: (there is) 1% -- if you're lucky -- of honest American politicians actually fighting for the American people that they're supposed to be representing.  And we have this overall infection of control by external sources.  You can call them lobbyists and special interests.
Again, as usual, McKinney does not disagree.

This interview follows what has become McKinney's usual method of endorsing outrageous anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.  She does this by allowing her interviewer or the authors of books she endorses to outline these theories for her.  Her responses are supportive of these views, but visibly so only in the context of the interview or by reference to the books she touts.  Outside of these contexts, she presents, to the inattentive, a simulacrum of political normality.

The interview is part of what appears to be a new far-right strategy for McKinney, coming fresh on the heels of her recent endorsement of the Matthias Chang's trilogy of fascist conspiracy theory books called the FastForward Trilogy, her participation in several of Chang's anti-Israel conferences and her endorsement of the bizarre anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist David Pidcock, formerly an Islamist politician who referred to himself as "The Leader".

McKinney has not publicly addressed her connections to the far right.

Adam you are either an agent or an idiot jewish racist. I have an extensive 13 year anti-racist background and you seem to think jewish zionists are incapable of racism. The truth is anyone is capable of racism, no matter the race. Heres proof

The most potent form however is jewish zionism, any criticism of which is AUTOMATICALLY anti-semetic.

Prof. Hargey invited Rabbi Ahron Cohen (pictured) from Manchester to the post-graduate college in order to present a paper entitled: "Zionist is not Judaism, Anti-Israelism is not Anti-Semitism." I suggest you research more when a side claims the left and right are controlled, instead of calling them far-right when no position has ever been stated. As a group TiU has no leader and no official political position.

What makes you say this guy Ognir is 'far right'? Is he 'far right' because he dares to confront the openly racist nature of Zionism? Does Daryl Bradford Smith count as a fascist because he does the same, or have you found instances of him actually espousing fascist ideology - that is, the merging of state and corporate power?

What criteria does Ognir fulfil that qualify him as 'far right'? Can you cite anything other than your opinion? And if he is indeed far right, would he be as far right as, say, that notorious racist Avigdor Lieberman?

Well said Steve, Adam Holland has betrayed himself as a supporter of the most racist state in the world Israel, which is not a democracy but a neo-facist police state.

His final sentence gives away his intentions for writing such a terribly biased commentary.

"McKinney has not publicly addressed her connections to the far right. "

She has not pubicly made any connections, as the connections only exist in your mind.

I think there is a full time position at the ADL for you. Maybe you can getting some of that $30 billion in aid that is given free to Israel each year.

I figured some of the titles of past radio shows that are ridiculously anti-Semitic might be enough to show he's a racist, BUT I GUESS I AM WRONG.

lol, you people. Always making me laugh. Everytime someone says "anti-zionism is not anti-semitism" it's always by someone defending racists. I'll eat my hat the first time someone who doesn't actually hate Jews says it. And I don't even wear a hat!

Cynthia McKinney is a Jew-hater of whom Hitler would be proud. Oh wait: Ms. McKinney is one of us "mud people", so that won't work.

It's a sign of the times that the 3who have already commented show how filled with ignorance, distortions, lies and hatred people can be ... not that one has too look further than under the closest rock for such garbage.

Thank you, Adam Holland, for an excellent post!

Far-right radio program? This Ognir fellow clearly blames the Bush administration for 9/11. He displays the typical anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism of the modern left. Please explain why you labelled these allies of far-left moonbat Cynthia McKinney "far-right".

So, the other commenters would rather ignore the fact that McKinney is a bat-sh*t crazy conspiracy theory proponent granting interviews to an openly anti-semitic radio program, and instead focus on whether the descriptor far-right is appropriate? Even if Adam is incorrect, you can correct him, or debate that without the remaining ad hominems. He called McKinney out for her craziness and cited her responses that support that, as well as linking to the entire interview so that anyone who wants the entire context can get it.

I don't know Ognir's background, nor do I care to after reading the interview excerpts. My cursory review demonstrates similar anti-israeli, anti-semitic, and ant-zionist sentiment from the left (often more-so than from the extreme right) all based on fundamental misunderstanding or willful ignorance of the history of Israel, and biased coverage of the current disputes in the middle-east.

Nothing I say here, of course, is going to convince any of the commentors, but hopefully it will dissuade readers from buying into their biases.

I thought the interview was interesting. After 12 years in Washington, Ms McKinney should know a few things or two.

I hope there will be a part 2.

None of you pro-Zionist nutjobs ever refute facts, you only cry anti-Semitism.

We just had two criminals' trial dropped because of pressure from the Jewish lobby in America, or did you forget that the Anti-Defamtion League and the America Jewish Congress forced the Justice Department to drop the spy case?

That's right, it's now legal to spy on America when it involves Israel. What about that. Cynthia Mckinney, an insider and not the only insider, says 99% of Congress is Jewish controlled. Refute that.

@Steve:

Anti-zionism is anti-semitism if you're a 13-year "anti-racism veteran". Whatever the hell that shit is.

If you trully were some kind of anti-racist you would know full well not to argue this point with the greatest anti-racist of our time - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.:

"Anti-Zionism = Anti-Semitism"
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
". . . You declare, my friend, that you do not hate the Jews, you are merely 'anti-Zionist.' And I say, let the truth ring forth from the high mountain tops, let it echo through the valleys of God's green earth: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--this is God's own truth.

"Antisemitism, the hatred of the Jewish people, has been and remains a blot on the soul of mankind. In this we are in full agreement. So know also this: anti-Zionist is inherently antisemitic, and ever will be so.

"Why is this? You know that Zionism is nothing less than the dream and ideal of the Jewish people returning to live in their own land. The Jewish people, the Scriptures tell us, once enjoyed a flourishing Commonwealth in the Holy Land. From this they were expelled by the Roman tyrant, the same Romans who cruelly murdered Our Lord. Driven from their homeland, their nation in ashes, forced to wander the globe, the Jewish people time and again suffered the lash of whichever tyrant happened to rule over them.

"The Negro people, my friend, know what it is to suffer the torment of tyranny under rulers not of our choosing. Our brothers in Africa have begged, pleaded, requested--DEMANDED the recognition and realization of our inborn right to live in peace under our own sovereignty in our own country.

"How easy it should be, for anyone who holds dear this inalienable right of all mankind, to understand and support the right of the Jewish People to live in their ancient Land of Israel. All men of good will exult in the fulfilment of God's promise, that his People should return in joy to rebuild their plundered land.

This is Zionism, nothing more, nothing less.

"And what is anti-Zionist? It is the denial to the Jewish people of a fundamental right that we justly claim for the people of Africa and freely accord all other nations of the Globe. It is discrimination against Jews, my friend, because they are Jews. In short, it is antisemitism.

"The antisemite rejoices at any opportunity to vent his malice. The times have made it unpopular, in the West, to proclaim openly a hatred of the Jews. This being the case, the antisemite must constantly seek new forms and forums for his poison. How he must revel in the new masquerade! He does not hate the Jews, he is just 'anti-Zionist'!

"My friend, I do not accuse you of deliberate antisemitism. I know you feel, as I do, a deep love of truth and justice and a revulsion for racism, prejudice, and discrimination. But I know you have been misled--as others have been--into thinking you can be 'anti-Zionist' and yet remain true to these heartfelt principles that you and I share.

Let my words echo in the depths of your soul: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--make no mistake about it."

From M.L. King Jr., "Letter to an Anti-Zionist Friend," Saturday Review_XLVII (Aug. 1967), p. 76.
Reprinted in M.L. King Jr., "This I Believe: Selections from the Writings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."

Now, Mr anti-racist veteran take a hike. I would suggest you reconsider your stance very carefully from this point on.

And no, I ain't Jewish. I'm a Greek Syrian living in Australia so save the "Zionist" crap on someone else.

I already did so, pointing out some of the holes and factual errors in his argument here:

"He called McKinney out for her craziness and cited her responses that support that, as well as linking to the entire interview so that anyone who wants the entire context can get it."

Which of her responses were "crazy"? In all these blog posts trying to label Cynthia McKinney as anti-Semitic, no one has cited anything that she has said or done that an objective observer could call anti-Semitic. Face it, your arguments are baseless.

Reminds me of nothing so much as right-wing attack dogs calling Barack Obama an America-hating terrorist because of his connections to Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers.

Adam Holland said...

Really, Dave? I missed when Obama shilled for racist conspiracy theories authored by Ayers and Wright. Can you remind us when he did that?

Read this post and the prior two. McKinney endorsed anti-Semitic conspiracy theories by Chang and participated in several of his conferences. She gave her seal approval to the British Islamic Party's David Pidcock. She appeared on an overtly racist radio program and let the host make numerous outrageous charges without making one peep of disapproval, tacitly agreeing and reinforcing several.

Please respond to the facts about McKinney and stop making sweeping analogies to the smearing of President Obama, which I agree was outrageous.

By the way, McKinney herself has been smearing Obama. Care to comment about that?

I'll leave the cynthia mckinney issue alone to focus on the idiot who stated "fascism is left wing" instead. fascism and it's ultra-racist cousin national socialism were and still are hard to place on the modern political spectrum, but if they are to be placed anywhere it certainly would be on the right. in both cases italian fascism and german national socialism their support base came from existing right wing anti-communist orginizations that already existed. the support base made up entirely of returning world war one vets, certain businessman worried about the rise of communism, etc. the attempt to revise fascism or nazism into a "left wing" movement smacks of historical illiteracy, furthermore prior to the cold war the "right" in this country was non-interventionist, just as protectionist as the then "left" was. the only individuals deifying the illusionary "free market" where the likes of freidrich hayek (who was no conservative). all of you idiot neo-cons who ramble on about "anti-collectivism" are using ayn rand's mantra (ayn rand was far from a conservative as well) what has happened is neo-con trotskytes have hijacked the modern conservative movement and in a fashion reminiscient of the pigs in orwell's animal farm have begun to rewrite history. to sum it all up, the brutal fact of the matter for you idiots is that both italian fascism and german national socialism was nationalistic and stridently anti-communist, not because they were "fighting for the same recruits" as you idiots and jonah goldberg say, but because they saw communism as a cancer and the contemporary right (the aristocracy) as weak and unable to combat this cancer, as michael ledeen (a neo-con btw) fascism was a post-war mindset that saw europe at war with rising communism. the economic tenents of fascism and national socialism may seem "leftist" but the quasi-socialism espoused was NATIONAL, and at odds with the international socialism of the communists.

"Please respond to the facts about McKinney and stop making sweeping analogies to the smearing of President Obama, which I agree was outrageous."

You have yet to produce a single anti-semitic statement from Cynthia McKinney or any Green Party official, yet you continue to label her and the Greens anti-semitic. Your argument is on a level, morally and intellectually, with Sarah Palin's "pallin' around with terrorists" remarks about Obama.

"By the way, McKinney herself has been smearing Obama. Care to comment about that?"

Please cite examples to back up your accusation.

Adam Holland said...

Dave,

McKinney has endorsed the racist conspiracy theories of Matthias Chang. She has participated in an overtly racist radio interview. In that interview, in which the word "Jew" was repeatedly used as an adjective, the president was said to be under the thumb of a Jewish conspiracy. If you don't get that that this is a problem, nothing I say will convince you.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with "pallin' around". This has everything to do with McKinney endorsing bigotry against Jews and promoting crazy conspiracy theories.

Maybe you think that the ideas she's endorsed in the blog posts and interview that I cited are okay. You really haven't addressed that issue at all.

By the way, what do you think of your allies in this argument -- the ones calling Martin Luther King "Lucifer", or "Steve" the anti-racist who maintains a website called "deathflag.com" which features a death's head as its banner?

Jewish Zionist Banker's occupy the far-right aka prothink/stormfront/aryan nation and the far left of DPRK/S.W.P/MAOISTS. They play both sides off against each other with joe public in the middle. Once you understand this and get over your "oh plz can i have a jewish blog award" ego trip, then you can address the issue of who controls the money supply/guns/tech/intel. I personally favour some of Kurt Saxon's positions of taking personal resposibilty for one's survival. You have not rebutted anything from cynthia and especially in the light of Harman/AIPAC shenigans or the bailouts or the taxpayers money going without public consent to an aparteid nation. Think south africa. You sound a bit like Margaret Thatcher and refuse to debate ognir, especially as it was you who leveled first the accusations. I guess our disagreement stems from your belief in certain allegiances which exist only in your own mind. For example, you mention my "allies" in the argument, assuming (or at least insinuating) that I agree with them because I disagree with you.

In a similar fashion, those who are upset by a former six-term congressperson speaking openly about Israel's war crimes and apartheid policies, finding nothing in her own words or actions to impugn her, are forced to fabricate a web of guilt by association that only they believe.

Since that seems to be your stock in trade, let me ask you this: did you report on Rahm Emanuel's father's comment: “Obviously he’ll influence the president to be pro-Israel. Why wouldn’t he? What is he, an Arab? He’s not going to be mopping floors at the White House.”
Even better, did you report on Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman's open advocacy of ethnic cleansing, or his speech in the Knesset where he fantasized about executing the Palestinian Knesset members?

I've followed Cynthia McKinney's writings and statements over the last year, and everything I've read has affirmed that she is dedicated to ending all forms of racism and bigotry. That's my stand too.

If I find an article online entitled "The Red-Brown convergence now includes the Greens" containing myriad false statements, which you either didn't bother or didn't care to fact-check, then I feel bound to intervene lest you spread your own confusion to others.

Adam Holland said...

Dave:

That is the longest "no comment" in history. You have said nothing about McKinney's endorsement of Matthias Chang's books, her citing David Pidcock or her appearance on the fascist radio program. Your only recourse is to continually change the subject.

You've said that you very strongly support Cynthia McKinney. You say that "everything I've read has affirmed that she is dedicated to ending all forms of racism and bigotry". It must be that support which allows you to overlook some very grave errors on her part.

If you would care to address why McKinney has these connections to the racist, far-right, feel free.

I find it laughable that you think you are qualified to say what is the truth and what is fiction when it comes to US politics. If anyone was the know it would be Cynthia McKinney. That you would ridicule her and criticize her so severely shows what your real agenda is. I think I am not alone in realizing this by reading the comments above. All you have to do is watch any one of thousands of videos on YouTube that expose the truth about the ZOG situation in the US and then read the comments and what popular opinion is. Take into consideration that there is no group of people that have more organizations and activists than the zionists. They have dozens of groups that troll the internet trying to influence opinion on these subjects. So the fact that even though jews have such a large reach in these matters, it is even more striking that popular opinion is still very anti-zionist and anti-Israel.

This whole red herring canard about "anti-zionism is anti-semitism" is ridiculous. If this were true, we would all hate Media Benjamin of Code Pink, who is a jew. Yet we do not. Then maybe this ridiculous assertion will stop. Though I sincerely doubt it.

They should also listen to the interview on the racist Ognir radio program where the host makes a series of hate-filled rants and McKinney does not object.

So let's let the readers judge for themselves, okay?

Anti-zionism IS NOT anti-semitism, it's simple really. Zionism and Jewish cultural identity are not the same thing. Political Zionists and it's proponents such as Adam Holland have and continue to entwine a genuine desire for Jewish cultural identity and cultural celebration - with expansionist colonialism.

The Jewish genuine desire for cultural identity and cultural celebration which Einstein referred to as cultural zionism - should not be denied. Every ethnic group around the world holds similar, if not identical beliefs about their culture and identity. However, this cultural zionism must not be confused - whether intentionally as in the case of political zionists or not - with colonial expansionism which is the physical embodiment of the Israeli regimes political zionism. This form of zionism is the type of zionism that appears to have gained so much support in Israel and the US.

The problem is that it is easy to attack people for opposing political zionism by creating the straw man argument of accusing the dissenter of opposing cultural zionism. Opposing cultural zionism can be easily and in most cases correctly correlated with racism. The straw man argument easily deflates the anti-zionists attacks as it is a fair and just argument. However it is a straw man argument, because the anti-zionist is not opposing cultural identity or cultural celebration (nee cultural zionism) but illegal and immoral political agendas wholly aligned with and dictated by expansionist colonial policy.

Consequently, it is important for the anti-zionist to clearly state the political zionism they are opposing so as to avoid this accusation while at the same time forcing the zionists like Adam Holland to clearly define the scope of their zionist beliefs and their support or opposition to political zionism / colonial expansionism.

Do you support racist apartheid colonial expansionism Adam? We don't - we oppose it, only racists and elitists support colonial expansionism! I support cultural identity and cultural celebration - not racism or expansionist colonialism.

I support cultural identity and cultural celebration - not racism!
