Those charges were in no way supported by the evidence provided by Alison Weir or her sources. It also concerned Weir's outrageous claim that Judaism sanctions human sacrifice. If I demolished that charge, as you say I did, it was only because it was a house of cards waiting to be knocked down.

Contrary to what you wrote in your comment, I did note in the piece that Weir stated that Toaff recanted his original conclusions about ritual murder under pressure. Reread what I wrote; Weir cited this as evidence not that the original conclusions were false, only that Jewish groups were preventing the truth from getting out.

I have no expertise in the subject of illegal trade in human organs, and no knowledge of it beyond what I read in the press. Like most people, I would hope that this trade is cracked down upon. It is unfortunate that this issue is used as a political brickbat against Israel instead of as a spur for stronger international regulation of these abuses.

Feel free to post any specifics you would like to see addressed with respect to Israel's role in this or any other aspect and I will be more than happy to follow up.Adam Hollandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06245468599571473818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718120950252476804.post-62357144039499755482010-01-17T11:57:10.697-05:002010-01-17T11:57:10.697-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Adam Hollandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06245468599571473818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718120950252476804.post-8577422855637133482010-01-17T11:26:44.287-05:002010-01-17T11:26:44.287-05:00For one not knowledgeable in this area at all, it ...For one not knowledgeable in this area at all, it seems to me that you have demolished Weir's use of Toaff and Shamir. (You wrongly, tho, accuse her of not reporting Toaff's later recanting.)And you've made a strong case against use of organs from dead bodies, via your use of Johns Hopkins doctor.

On the other hand, while you can label Aftonblat as a tabloid, the same can't be said about the Economist, Ha'aretz, Jerusalem Post, and J Weekly, all of which report stories concerning the implication of Israel, via its health insurance policies, in the illegal international organ harvesting among the poor and vulnerable.

Can you rebut these claims as well?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04374618391879949862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718120950252476804.post-69417537159806495732009-09-20T03:11:44.808-04:002009-09-20T03:11:44.808-04:00Thank you for this excellent article.
