Whatever is said publicly, Williamson has been condemned by SSPX for drawing attention to this, not for the beliefs themselves. Williamson differs from the others in the leadership in the group mainly in his exhibitionistic need for attention and his love of being a bomb-thrower. That such a narcissistic bigot came to play a major role in SSPX makes more sense than you know.Adam Hollandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06245468599571473818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718120950252476804.post-36410340119654385222011-12-23T00:33:38.954-05:002011-12-23T00:33:38.954-05:00Richard Williamson is a big problem and an even bi...Richard Williamson is a big problem and an even bigger liar. However, the Society of St Pius X is his victim, not his sponsor. Most of the priests and religious of the Society only want to restore the Catholic faith and Catholic identity. Sadly, however, Williamson has infected many lay members with his virulent hatred of Jews, leading them astray from the true teachings of the Catholic Church.

I know this because even though I am not a member of the society I go to their mass, participate in their parish life and send my children to their school. It will please you to know that my children are strongly against anti-semitism.

The Society needs to preach the faith widely, bring Catholics back to their faith traditions and Catholic identity and shut Williamson up or expel him. If they did the latter he would almost certainly be formally excommunicated from the Church unless he sincerely recanted his views.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718120950252476804.post-40535957701804575342009-06-20T09:38:04.742-04:002009-06-20T09:38:04.742-04:00Adam, you are unbelievable! Williamson's views concerning deicide and concerning an evil world conspiracy led by Jews and Masons are precisely those of the SSPX. They are also, contrary to your comment, inextricably linked to SSPX opposition to Vatican II, which WAS the reason for the excommunication. If the SSPX has chosen to recognize Vatican II and renounce its anti-Semitism, fine, let them say so and the issue ends. But they have not corrected themselves on these issues which are precisely the causes for the excommunication. So I ask: why would Pope Benedict welcome these views into his church?

Now remind me again: just how am I supposed to have slandered the Pope?Adam Hollandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06245468599571473818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718120950252476804.post-49354319267712850502009-02-09T05:06:00.000-05:002009-02-09T05:06:00.000-05:00It is completely erroneous and unjust that you wou...It is completely erroneous and unjust that you would suggest that Pope Benedict does not back the Church teachings in Vatican II on
the question that it the church does not recognize a validity of collective guilt of the Jews for the
condemnation of Jesus to death.
There is no reason that you should suggest this and it is slanderous to do so. It is tying in a lie in your account which is what is what the press has done so well in the past week doing a disservice to everyone on moral and religious grounds.

The reason for lifting the excommunications has nothing to do with these opinions of Bishop Williamson has the Pope has already communicated and he has already communicated in several documents and most recently in audiences and in statements to the press his positions clearly which go against your slanderous remarks about him.

The church can not excommunicate anyone on the basis of their ideas about history however wrong they could be.Editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06188239668681246807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718120950252476804.post-78704876464455503592009-01-29T11:37:00.000-05:002009-01-29T11:37:00.000-05:00nice job with your research. you went a lot furthe...nice job with your research. you went a lot further in depth than I did for sure.
